>> Problem: When in doubt, C?
>> Information: Elementary school teachers claim that C is for "correct," thus one should guess C when in doubt.
>> Hypothesis: If one guesses C on all questions of a multiple choice test, one will get 50% of the test questions correct.
>> Materials: #2 Pencil, scantron, positive attitude
>> Procedure:
1. Receive scantron.
2. For questions 1~42, mark C as the answer on the scantron.
3. Turn in scantron.
4. Wait for results.
>> Conclusion:
Though far from 50%, I still got a 30% on the test, which is higher than the theoretical 25%. Marking D would have given me a higher score. Thus, when in doubt, D for Dubious.


I kid you not. I did this on an actual test. It was quite entertaining. No worries, my lowest test grade (this one) gets dropped. I had the priviledge to do this only because I was a very good Chemistry student.

When I turned the test in after minutes of commencing the test, he raised one eye brow and said, "....Really?" Haha. When he gave it back to me, he announced my grade, 30, to the class. Quite priceless.

Very cool experiment and photo. I love the perspective and the black behind it. A friend told me about the C rule, and I use it when I have no clue, but it usually works for me. : D Wow, I know some people who can't get a 30% on a test even if they try. XD;;
